Server News

When the UDR launched their biological weapon against the CanEu Provinces, it unknowingly caused an influx of high energy gravitational waves, interfering with Earth's magnetic field in unpredictable ways. Survivors call them storms when they come and seemingly hover over top of the Crater.

The UDR's Deep Science Division warns everyone that it can cause wild and unpredictable behavior to anything alive, or otherwise, however they assured us that it should be temporary. Hail Hydra.

Storms now occur once every other day, guaranteed. No more rolling, which frees up gamba roll percentages!

From Sept 1st

Random Storms now roll in once every 48hrs. They are set to run from 1800 - 2200hrs EST Monday to Friday, 1000 - 1400hrs on Saturday, and 1200 - 1800hrs on Sunday.
Storms cause players, zeds and animals to think and act differently. Things normalize after the storm passes, but ScottishHaze is kind of evil.
Auto-Updater script now runs twice an hour, up from once an hour.

What do you mean.. Haze is kind of evil?

I miss the gamba streams, so I now gamba with your characters.

Every 5 minutes the server is online, it rolls a number between 1 and 10,000. If that roll ever lands on The Secret Number, then you get 1.25x rates for 1 in-game hour.

That's not so bad.. How is this gambling?

Well, it's not exactly 5 minutes. The chance of the the server rolling The Secret Number roughly works out to be a 37% chance every 30 minutes. If it ever lands on it, server rates get increased to 1.25x as stated above. No announcement is made; you must be playing live!

Woah! 1.25x rates? How is that evil?

Like any good infomercial, but wait, there's more!

If at any time The Secret Number is rolled again, while the 1.25x event is active, an additional hour is added to the timer.

If at any point, the server rolls The Secret Number twice in a row, all timers are reset, and a special event is triggered called "A day off in the sun", for 1 real-world hour. No announcement is made outside the game, but if you're online, you get to enjoy:

All Skills and XP rates are increased to 10x.
All loot generated is 3x, including food harvests.
Death Skill Journals restore 100% upon reading.
All zombie settings reduced to their lowest values.
Commercial buildings can be captured as your primary safe house.

Does "Evil" mean "Amazing" in Scottish?

Well, you've caught me. It's not all sunshine and unicorns, snowflake!

If the server ever rolls The Secret Number three times in a row, The Apocalypse is triggered.

All players are affected, even those offline.
All Zeds get maximum buffs to toughness, sight, hearing, etc.
All stored food and water is made rotten.
Players are permanently starving and exhausted.
All power and water is shut off.
Skill journal on death is turned off.
Fire Safety system disabled - Safe houses can burn!
Zombies spawn with a 50% chance to sprint.
Zombies that aren't sprinters, get automatic weaponry.
Zombies can see through walls, pick locks, break windows.

The Story So Far

You wake up with a splitting headache. You don't remember much, or how you got here. You peek out the window and see a sign that says "Front Lines This Way". You see a flyer on the bedside table, reading

While intended to turn the fighters into UDR citizens, and thus cure them from their over-confident stance on many ignored Executive Orders, it has caused behavior and aggression changes. You are hereby ordered to find a gun, and end as many CanEu Terrorist lives as possible. — Office of the Executive, U.D.R.
